1. The Cars
Whether you love those exotic imported cars or the heavily customised muscle cars, fast and furious has all of it. We loved Dom's Dodge supercharger and Brian's Skyline rumbling on the screen. The super cars you see in these movies are the dream of every car lover and makes them a real visual treat. And to top it all, the racing scenes are very well depicted that they give you an adrenaline rush. The unique looks of the cars they use in F&F makes a good reason to watch them, maybe over and over again! And, we can't expect them to chase criminals with some ordinary car you see every day on the streets, can we?
2. The Fights
Thrilling fights has always been a part of the fast and furious movies. Ever since Dwayne Johnson aka Rock joined the series as Hobbs, the usual fights have taken a new form from mild to mind blowing. The fights involving Hobbs and Dom had a lot of crazy glass shattering scenes. The last fight in Furious 7 was so much fun to watch, they incorporated everything from cars, fists, wrenches, and even a parking garage in that battle. Even Letty, played by Michelle Rodriguez who is widely known for her strong female characters has done wonderful fight performances in the F&F series.
3. The Stunts
In the beginning of the F&F series, the stunts were limited to mere car chases and drifting. But things have changed a lot since then. With the addition of each movie, the stunts have been getting crazier and insane. I bet they find it an overwhelming task to find new stunts for each new movie that can outdo the ones in the previous movie. The stunts we saw in the newest movies included destroying giant tanks, jumping the car off cliffs, skydiving cars and even taking down airplanes. No wonder why the budget for these movies is around $250 million dollars.
4. The Relationships
Since this is a movie series made around explosions and adrenaline, there is no shortage of love. We could see Brian fighting for Mia from the beginning and eventually win her over by the middle of the series. Dom and Letty made a great couple too although they killed Letty in one of the movies. When the writers found out that the fans were not happy about this, they brought her back from the dead in the next movie. They even made it more interesting by making Letty lose her memory in that accident and she even shot Dom in fast and Furious 6 not knowing who he was. But Dom still fought for her and eventually things were back to normal. When we talk about relationships, we can NEVER forget one of best friendships ever portrayed on screen by Brian and Dom.
5. The Family
I've always believed that the real theme of F&F movies were the importance of warm and happy families. From the very first movie and throughout the series, each one of the characters has proved how far they could go to protect one another, their family. Not all of them are related by blood and they are a very diverse group, yet they stand together, fight for each other and that's what makes this movie series great and loveable.
It's hard not to mention the tragic death of Paul walker when talking about the family part. The heart touching tribute given at the end of Furious 7 made it clear how important he was to the family, crew and obviously the fans. I believe they had given a proper send off to Paul and his character Brian in the Furious 7.
If you thought rumbling cars and the smell of burnt gas in the air is what the Fast and Furious movies are all about, now you know there's much more. We are not sure how many more sequels to this movie series will come out in the future, but one thing is clear, we already have 7 great movies that'd be loved for years to come.
